Golf resort Domaine des Forges (GDdF) is situated in the municipality of Vasles which is in the mid-west of France in the heart of the Poitou Charentes region.

The city of Poitiers is only a thirty minute drive from the golf resort. The beaches of La Rochelle and Île de Ré are approximately a one hour drive away.

While you are at Golfresort Domaine des Forges you really must keep some time free to go out and explore the surrounding area. Truly magnificent scenery is in abundance here. Poitou-Charentes borders on the holiday areas Dordogne, Val de Loire and Bretagne. The beaches of La Rochelle and the Île de Ré are slightly more than an hour's drive away. A visit to the historic towns of Niort, Partenay and Poitiers is certainly recommended. There is enough to do in the vicinity for children too, a visit to theme park Futuroscope, La Vallee des Signes (a monkey park) or the sea aquarium in La Rochelle are definitely worth a visit.

The region also offers a great deal in terms of culinary delight. You can enjoy a simple meal with a farmer's family (Ferme Auberge) or dine in style at one of the nearby castles. But alternatively you can prepare a delicious meal at home in your villa using regional produce such as goat's cheese, escargots or lamb. You can buy these direct from the farmer.

You need not go very far for a delicious lunch or evening meal; the clubhouse accommodates the delightful restaurant, La Bergerie. A good kitchen, where it is usually pleasantly busy given that people from the surrounding area also come here for lunch or their evening meal.

Situated next to the clubhouse is a heated open air pool, a jeu-de-boules area, a tennis court, table tennis and bicycle rentals (practical because not all villas are within short walking distance). It goes without saying that you can hire golf clubs, trolleys and buggies from reception and the pro shop.
